Coining of the term "oldies but goodies":

1959
The term "oldies but goodies" was coined by Los Angeles disc jockey Art Laboe in the late 1950s. Laboe copyrighted the term in 1959, and issued the first of numerous compilation albums titled "Oldies But Goodies" that same year.
