Cashback credit cards are wonderful things. They allow us to spend just a little more than we normally could thanks to the small amount of replaced cash.

#1 – Use Your Cashback Credit Card to Pay Your Bills

It may seem dangerous to use a credit card to pay off all your monthly bills. This is true if you aren’t good at keeping track of your credit card spending. However, if you can remain out of credit by the end of the month, these bills will give you a huge boost in reaching your credit card’s minimum spend requirements.

Your monthly bills will likely comprise the majority of your spending in a month, other than perhaps groceries. Having a cashback credit card that fits well with your bills is a huge bonus.

#2 – Make Big Purchases Whenever Possible

If you ever plan to buy something expensive, make sure to use your cashback credit card. The more you spend on a cashback credit card, the better your return will be. You also tend to get good bonus rewards from expensive purchases. (Make sure you can afford to do so, of course)

#3 – Utilize Short-Term Rewards

Finally, keep an eye on short-term rewards. There will be times when your credit card provider has a temporary promotion, such as ‘gain an additional 1% on your cashback rewards if you spend at least $1000 this month’.

These short-term reward opportunities should be snapped up whenever possible. The rewards that come with them are generally very useful in getting the most out of your cashback credit card.

These are just a few of the many tricks to maximizing your cashback credit card’s potential. Take a look at some of my other articles to learn more!
